Storytelling Session
December 16, 2001
10.00 am - 12.00 pm
Philippine General Hospital Pediatrics Wards 9 & 11

"The Christmas storytelling session that was held in the Pediatrics Ward of PGH was just a few hours ago, but I feel that I am still on a high from what went on a while ago. Armed with Children's books of varying sizes and shapes, Bukas Sarili members and friends merrily trooped from bed to bed telling stories, creatively translated from their original English scripting to kiddie Tagalog. Needless to say that was not an easy task for everyone. While some kids would listen, others were more interested in the cheese sandwiches, chewy candies and bubble gum we had going around.

I would like to thank all those who participated in this event, making it a wonderful success. Special thanks to Arra Manuel, Anne Castro, Fides Baes, Chonette Montinola, Jenny Rose Panaligan Mike Julian, Jay Zaragoza, Mike Alimurung, Ray Alimurung, Quintin Pastrana, Judith Ramos, Essa Remoquillo, Malou Gutierrez, Nino, Johncy, Ronald, Cres, Joyce, Dr. Milette Pangan (Senior Resident at the Pedia Ward during our session), Mia Diego and Rhiana Roque, as well as Dr. Cruz (Cheif Resident of Pediatrics) of PGH for allowing us to have our storytelling session once again.

I sincerely and truly hope that we can have this event more and more often.  It is really something to see the smile on a child's face.  They sometimes even forget about their problems for a while.  Even the "bantays" had a lot of fun, listening to the colorful stories.  To Oliver, John Paul, and the rest of the children at PGH, I hope that you have a truly blessed Christmas!"
