Baratillo sa San Antonio Part V
June 29 - 30, 2002
7.00 am - 7.00 pm
Sanctuario de San Antonio Parish

The foundation held its 8th rummage sale last June 29 & 30 at the parish grounds. Coinciding with the Quarterly Dasmarinas Sale, Nature Bazaar & Thrift Shop for the first time, the event was deemed to be a challenging endevour. Still, things were hopeful as members pushed the marketing envelope with the aid of creative promotional tools (banners, teasers..etc.).

Correspondingly, we conducted a “sorting session” two days prior to the sale. Confronted with a stack of balikbayan boxes and bags of unsorted items, members and non-member volunteers participated in this physically challenging activity. Special thanks to our generous friends from P&G, namely Quennie Go, John Quinto, Che Chao, Meann Cruz, Pia Hamoy, Arman Figueroa, Alnie Daluyaya & BS members Jane Banta, Tintin Montinola, Chonette Montinola, Ray & Mike Alimurung, Karol Fadri Arra Manuel & Anne Castro, whose presence resulted in a successful sorting evening.

The morning of Day 1, not long after the initial set-up, a bandwagon of bargain shoppers joined in the sale and homogenized the scene till noon. Interesting items included canned tomato sauce, shampoo sachets and a bike helmet. Although we did have occasionally bare moments, we maximized the hours by sorting! Luckily, we chanced upon a pingpong table, which served recreationally useful.

Day 2 transpired likewise. This time, our market extended to church-goers and more passers-by. Warm and friendly customers greeted us all throughout the day.

We would like to extend my sincerest gratitude to the members who partook in the manning…Tintin & Chonette Montinola, Arra Manuel, Criselle Panlilio, Pilar Estrada, Ray & Mike Alimurung, Shasha Sy, Karol Fadri, Super Perez, Margo Flores & Mike Julian. Indeed, it was a truly worthwhile experience! If only we had more men's clothes.
