:: Why the Philippine General Hospital (PGH) Internal Medicine Ward?

The country's public medical institutions are its most vital source of basic health care because of their reach and accessibility, and yet they are the most underfunded. The PGH is the most recognized provider of affordable medical care. After designating the PGH as the starting point, Bukas Sarili Directors identified the Internal Medicine ward as among the neediest and overlooked in terms of donor support. This ward houses approximately 100 patients at any given time suffering from chronic and sometimes fatal conditions such as tuberculosis, leukemia, pneumonia, and heart disease.
