Baratillo sa San Antonio Part VI March 29 - 30, 2003
7.00 am - 7.00 pm
Sanctuario de San Antonio Parish
The Bukas Sarili Foundation held a highly successful two-day rummage sale
last March 29 and 30, its 9th, at the Sanctuario de San Antonio parking lot in Forbes
Park. It was the first rummage sale of the year and was able to raise more than P43,000
in two short but very memorable days. It marked the first time that Bukas
Sarili made use of tents for the rummage sale. The tents contributed greatly
to the success of the project for it gave the San Antonio parking lot a
conducive atmosphere for some serious shopping. In addition, it also created a
very relaxed environment for the many bargain hunters and Bukas Sarili members
who attended the sale.
The rummage sale is perhaps one of the fastest ways to raise money. However,
this project was not done overnight. The rummage sale committee headed by Arra
Manuel started the project early this year, and with the help of the many dedicated
and generous members-friends and affiliates of Bukas Sarili-the Foundation was able
to collect donations that ranged from clothes to various knick-knacks in a matter
of weeks. These donations were then sorted in the Alimurung residence two days
before the sale and were transported to the parish with the help of a truck
loaned to Bukas Sarili.
The success of this year's first rummage sale reflects the commitment and
devotion of both members and non-members in the unending quest to aid our less
fortune brothers and sisters through their kindness and generosity. The rummage
sale is a venue wherein people from all walks of life can participate and help in
giving the patients of the PGH the medical assistance they badly need.
We would like to thank those who manned the sale and who facilitated its
marketing and organization: Aning Sy and Shasha Sy-for providing us with a truck,

Alimurung, Criselle Panlilio, Timi Gomez, Tessa Santos, Twinkle Legaspi, Jay
