Bukas Sarili Christmas Party
A Season with a Reason was definitely celebrated at 9 Cambridge Circle North Forbes Park last December 6, 2002, in no small part due to the generosity of Margo Flores, as the Bukas Sarili Foundation had its first Christmas Get-together. Many members-old, new and soon-to-be-were invited to join the evening celebration with the hopes of bringing together all those who had carried the Foundation over the past four years as well as to introduce the Foundation to others, whose support is vital for the Foundation's growth. Swiss-Pinoy Kitchen, under the supervision of Anne Castro prepared for us a sumptuous full course menu where most ingredients came from local farmers and artisans. Diets surely went out the window for the night as dinner was followed by cocktails that lasted till way past midnight. The evening was also a gathering of minds and ideas. From a table arrangement of separate foursomes, the members merged into a rectangular formation of King Arthur's table. Topics of all sorts arose from everywhere, with everyone participating in spite of the table length. Plans for the year, planning seminars, sports, and friends-almost everything came out at our "Rectangular Table", which brought out great ideas and elicited loads of laughter. For most, it was both a time to catch up on each other as well as an opportunity to learn more about what Bukas Sarili was really about. All the guests received a pleasant surprise as Teatro Adersari conducted a splendid dress rehearsal of their Tagalog adaptation of Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol". With a host of singing and acting, it was surely a musical to be proud of. Laughter and joy filled the night all the way until 1 am, although mostly devoid of vices. It was a night of clean fun-just the way we all loved it. We continue to hope for a pleasant and fruitful year to come as God had blest us with a very good 2002. With our goals set for 2003 and we certain to have His blessing once again. The Christmas Dinner Menu
