Make-A-Wish Foundation 2nd Year Anniversary December 15, 2001
2.00 pm - 6.00 pm
Glorietta
The volunteers of Bukas-Sarili Foundation lent a helping hand to the Make-A-Wish Foundation last December 15, 2001.
Eddie Santos together with their 25 volunteers were truly thankful to Mike and Ray Alimurung, Arra and Adriel Manuel, Pam Sulit, and
Victor Manlapaz who were there to provide the much-needed manpower. The foundation grants wishes to children afflicted with life
threatening or terminal illness. The event, dubbed "Joy to the World" was held at the Ayala Center Activity Center.
The event began at 2:00 pm when the children of the Make-A-Wish Foundation were treated to TIMEZONE at Glorietta 2.
They were then the guests of honor at 4:00 pm wherein volunteers prepared a special concert of Ms. Vina Morales.
The highlight of the evening was the granting of a wish to 5-year old Rose Ann Obias who wished for a slide, courtesy
of Babyland. As she and her parents pulled off the canopy, the beautiful slide was finally revealed.
It was a tearful moment for Roseann when the slide she had been wishing for finally was within reach.
The jampacked crowd gave her a rousing applause.
In the month of December, three other wishes were granted by the Make-A-Wish Foundation -- Wishchild
Jasper (meet Martin Nievera), Wishchild Abigail (have a computer), Wishchild Earl (have a remote control car).
Many thanks to our sponsors: Ayala Land, Babyland (for the slide), Hutus Hut, Universal Robina Corporation,
California Pizza Kitchen, Buddies, Hong Kong Shanghai Bank, Siemens Mobile Phone, Kodak, Penshoppe, McDonald's, Red Ribbon
(for the food and 30 boxes of cakes) and the fabulous people of Ayala Center.
