Bukas Sarili sold its first set of Christmas cards for charity this holiday
season. The cards were sold in packs of 10 at a cost of PhP250 a pack. A total of 6500
cards or 650 packs were printed, in 2 separate printing runs. The first batch of cards
contained the original 2 designs--the manager and parols--in each pack. The second batch
also contained the 3rd design, the candle, in addition to the first two.
A host of Bukas Sarili members and other volunteers paraded the cards to their friends and relatives.
More than 50 volunteers became cards salesmen during the season. Cards were also made available at the
San Antonio Parish Office (Thanks to Fr. Tony and Jasmine), after some masses at Magallanes Church
(Thanks to Ray, Mike, Ana and Arra), during the San Antonio
bazaar on November 30, courtesy of Pilar Estrada and Tessa Santos, and at the
Valle Verde bazaar on November 30, December 1 & 2, courtesy of Pam Sulit.
In spite of the foundation's late start in selling the cards, the combined efforts of all the
volunteers allowed us to sell 625 packs! This was way over our target of 500 packs.
On behalf of the beneficiaries, both patients and scholars, we would like to thank everyone
(You know who you are!) in helping make this holiday season a more meaningful one.
We would also like to extend our special thanks to the some of the major sellers and buyers --
Fr. Tony and Jasmine of the San Antonio parish (23 packs), EduQuest (65 packs), Jojo Lopez (40 packs),
Office of Admissions,
Ateneo de Manila University (25 packs), Siguion Reyna, Montecillo and Ongsiako Law Offices (20 packs).
